How long do I have to stay on site?
It’s best to allow for 3 working days in Asunción.
Recommendation: Arrive on Sunday and depart from Thursday onwards.

Do I have to live permanently in Paraguay?
No – there is no residency obligation. Entering the country once per year is sufficient for the first two years.
How long does the Cédula take?
Due to the high number of residency applications currently in Paraguay,
5–7 months after submitting the application.

How often is entry required?
As long as you hold the temporary residence permit (2 years), one entry per year is sufficient.
After that, you can apply for the permanent permit—the process is almost identical—and then you’ll only need to check in every three years.

To apply for the RUC tax number, you need the Temporary Residency + the Cedula (plastic card).
